Utilizing an advanced set of algorithms, this WD Blue SSHD tracks data usage, prioritizing frequently-used data for fast access in the solid state portion of the device, and adapting, learning, and optimizing as new applications and command requests change over time. These algorithms reside in the SSHD firmware, enabling it to make determinations of which data to store in the NAND flash memory without any influence from the host or related storage device drivers. In addition to its 1TB capacity and 8GB of MLC NAND flash memory, this SSHD is also built with a 2.5″ / 9.5mm form factor, a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, a 64MB cache, a 100 MB/s max host to/from drive (sustained) data transfer rate, 600,000 load/unload cycles, < 1 in 1014 non-recoverable read errors per bits read, Advanced Format (AF), and RoHS compliance.
