With its short depth chassis design, it helps ensure easy installation and deployment in 2-post racks and wall mount racks. It serves as a dedicated local backup solution for a RackStation.

- When drive capacity is running low on a 1U RackStation, it provides a solution to immediately scale capacity by providing an additional four slots. A RAID volume on the RackStation can be expanded directly without having to reformat the existing drives, ensuring the RackStation continues providing services during capacity expansion. It also serves as a dedicated local backup solution for a RackStation. When created as a separate volume, it provides a backup solution for local drives in case of system failure.
- Reliable Plug-and-Use and Short-Depth Chassis Design
- RX415 securely connects to Synology’s 1U RackStation servers with a specially designed eSATA cable, ensuring easy connection and maximum data throughput. With its exceptional 12-inches short-depth chassis design, it can be deployed in both industrial standard environments and smaller server rooms with limited space. Optional Synology Rail Kits are also available for easy system maintenance.

- Deep Sleep can be manually configured to start automatically when the system has been inactive for a period of time. This not only saves energy, but also extends the lifespan of hard drives. This also will smartly power on/off with the attached RackStation, so no user intervention is needed to keep this system running smartly and efficiently.
