Description

The N7710G 7-Bay 10GbE SMB Tower NAS Server from Thecus is an advanced high capacity storage solution designed for use in multi-client business and enterprise environments. Built with a Tower form factor, the N7710G is compatible with Windows, Mac, Unix, and Linux.

The N7710G is powered by a 2.9 GHz Intel Pentium G850 Dual-Core processor, which will allow you to run multiple functions simultaneously. The built-in 4GB of DDR3 ECC RAM will allow quick access to frequently-used files and programs. ECC RAM is also able to detect and correct single-bit errors, which is an important feature when working with scientific and financial computing.

The 7-bay enclosure has the ability to natively house both 3.5″ or 2.5″ SATA III hard drives or SSD drives. To ensure optimal utilization of the processors and fast network speeds, a 10-Gigabit Ethernet card is installed in the system’s PCI-e slot. Along with link aggregation, network data traffic can be streamlined, multiple network connections can be sustained, and redundancy can be provided in case one of the links fails. In addition to the 10 Gigabit Ethernet port, the N7710G also has two Gigabit Ethernet ports.

The N7710G runs on ThecusOS 5.0, which supports the High Availability feature. High Availability allows you to replicate the data on an active NAS to another standby NAS via 10GbE synchronization. If data corruption occurs or if the active NAS has any HDD problems or downtime, then the standby server keeps all vital data saved and is available at all times to take over the active NAS’ responsibilities.

ThecusOS 5.0 also allows you to dynamically stack your NAS units for more capacities in a single volume. Simply designate your NAS as a stack master and use the 10 GbE switch to connect additional target devices. Five additional iSCSI devices can be combined for massive storage capacity when utilizing a 10 GbE switch.

Additionally, to help protect data and backup needs for enterprises, Thecus provides free copies of Acronis True Image and McAfee Antivirus. McAfree’s scanning algorithms help detect viral threats, while Acronis offers a wide range of features which includes hard drive replication and restore, VSS support, backing up to multiple destinations, and cloud backups.

The N7710G includes an Accessory Bag with key, an Ethernet cable, a power cord, a DVD with Acronis True Image, McAfee Antivirus, a Universal CD, QIG, and an HDD Compatibility List.

10GbE Included
High-end data centers often need a level of speed that today’s average network cannot provide. The 10GbE solution offered by the N7710-G models makes them ready for 10GbE speeds straight out of the box
AES 256-Bit RAID Volume Encryption
Thecus’ AES 256-bit RAID Volume Encryption tool allows users to fully encrypt their entire RAID volume, helping to defend essential data
Data Guard
Data Guard Backup Solution provides both local and remote backups. Currently, data is backed up across RAID volumes, external USB drives, and eSATA. In addition, Data Guard uses innovative technology to sync data across the network to other NAS and servers. More importantly, Thecus Data Guard makes managing NAS user-friendly and convenient
Data Burn
NAS data can now be burned directly to CD, DVD, and Blu-ray discs with Data Burn. In addition, burning an ISO image file is also supported. Whether you’re managing audio, media, or essential files, Data Burn copies information fast while reducing waiting time. The process of burning files to disk is now easy with the Data Burn module
Multiple RAID Options
When it comes to data management, Thecus NAS lets you create multiple RAID volumes. In addition, each RAID volume can support different RAID modes including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and JBOD for a balance of performance and data protection. Should a hard drive malfunction occur, changing one is simple thanks to online RAID migration, expansion, hot spare, and auto rebuild
Multiple File Systems
Support for multiple file systems including EXT3, EXT4, and XFS, gives Thecus NAS the ability to handle many different types of environments. Users can simultaneously use different file systems across multiple RAID volumes to get the best of each one
iSCSI Thin-Provisioning
Get the most out of your storage space with the speed of iSCSI and the efficiency of iSCSI thin provisioning. Connect through iSCSI for fast data transfer speeds and make wasted disk space a thing of the past with thin provisioning’s flexible storage functionality
Link Aggregation
Link Aggregation can sustain multiple network connections and provide redundancy in case one of the links fails. Thecus NAS supports 7 modes which provide Load Balance, Failover, 802.3ad, Balance-XOR, Balance-TLB, Balance-ALB, and Broadcast
Antivirus
While Thecus’ hardware helps prevent failures, sometimes you have to protect the NAS against itself. Adding an antivirus to the software bundle helps provide software protection by scanning the files on your NAS and defending it against possible threats
VMware V5.5 Certification
With VMware V5.5 Certification, your NAS will be compatible with virtualization technology
Cloud Backup
The Thecus THN7710G supports DropBox, Amazon S3, and ElephantDrive cloud backup functionality. Guard your data with RAID at home and an additional level of protection in the Cloud.
